What is a Library of Things?

A “Library of Things” is a collection of items for loan that expands the boundaries of traditionally defined library materials. Our Library of Things was created to meet the growing needs of our community. Like our more traditional items, you get to try something new for free! Some of our items have been purchased with with funds been provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records.

Please stop in to check out our collections!

In our Library of Things you could check out...

Cake Pans & Cookie Cutters

Steam Kits *1 per family

Storytime To Go Kits *1 per family

Garden Tools *Waiver must be filled out

Car Code Scanners

Hiking GPS

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation's libraries and museums. We advance, support, and empower America's museums, libraries, and related organizations through grantmaking, research, and policy development. IMLS envisions a nation where individuals and communities have access to museums and libraries to learn from and be inspired by the trusted information, ideas, and stories they contain about our diverse natural and cultural heritage. To learn more, visit www.imls.gov and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

STATE PARK LIBRARY PASS

Thanks to the Nevada State Parks Service, the Boulder City Library has TWO State Park Passes to check out.

The Nevada State Parks Library Park Pass is valid for entry at any of Nevada's 28 State Parks.

Entry for 1 passenger vehicle with a capacity of 8 people or less.

Not valid for any other fees.

The Pass checks out for 1 week and is not renewable or requestable.

The Pass must be returned inside the Boulder City Library. Please do not return it to any other library.

If we have a pass available, there will be an exchange card in a holder by the Youth Magazines and our GPS units. Just bring it on over to Circulation to exchange for a pass. Otherwise, please call or stop in with your library card to be put on the holds list.
