HVAC Installation UPDATE (5/15/25)

We're still out of AC, so the library will be closed today (5/15). The contractor is hopefully the AC will be back on by tomorrow so please keep an eye on our website and social media for updates. Fines will be waived for this closed period.

We're sorry to report that we're going to need to be closed another day (5/14) due to lack of AC. The temperature in the Library hasn't gone down at all. Our book drop is still open and we will be waiving late fees during this time. If you need a new pin for online resources, please call and leave a message and we'll return it as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Hey everyone, just an update. Unfortunately, we are going to have to close today, Sunday, and Monday. The library temperature is too hot for staff and patrons to be safely in the building. As of now we are planning to open for limited hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but that may change based on the temperature. Thank you for your patience and understanding during our HVAC installation.

HVAC Installation (5/7/25)

Some of you may have noticed the big crane at the library on Monday. We're updating our HVAC system! Due to the installation, our hours will be changing starting Saturday as we will have no AC or air circulation. Temperatures have been all over the place, so hours are subject to change. Keep an eye on social media for up to date information.

Flooring Update (3/28/24)

As Robert Burns said in To a Mouse “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”

We had planned to open on Sunday, but for the safety and health of our patrons, we’re going to be closed for a little while longer. The flooring construction is loud and there is a lot of dust and other irritants in the air along with heavy furniture in places it doesn’t normally go.

Why are we getting this done right now? Our carpet was old and very dirty (22 years of lots of foot traffic) to the point that even water spilled on it stained it horribly. We have our first annual Literary Arts Fair in May and Summer Reading Program from May to July and we wanted to put our best foot forward with a nice, clean library atmosphere. We also had to work with the flooring people to fit into their schedule.

We know it is an inconvenience for many, but we ask for your patience and understanding. Our staff is working hard to provide curbside and get things back in order as fast as possible. We’ve had a couple of unforeseen setbacks with the floor not being as level as needed and with some cracks that had to be fixed.

We’re getting your library back together ASAP and can’t wait to show off the new floor!

We're hoping to open up early April, but only parts of the library. The installation will still be ongoing, so it may be a little loud.

Please note that there will be no curbside service on Sunday, March 31st.
