Don’t forget to “fall back” on Sunday (11/6)

Daylight Savings Time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 6th. Before you head to bed on Saturday night, don’t forget to set your clock back an hour.

Some Facts about DST

  • Britain was the first to observe DST during WWI.
  • The US first observed DST in 1918, but latter repealed the law in 1919.
  • The Uniform Time Act of 1966 established the system of uniform Daylight Saving Time throughout the United States.
  • DST in the USA has been extended twice: in 1974-1975 and in 2007. It now runs from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.
  • For the most part, our neighboring state, Arizona, doesn’t observe DST. The Navajo Nation lands and federal parks in Arizona do.
