Banned Book Week

BBW14_300x250_2Banned Book Week is a week long annual event where libraries, author, publishers, and readers celebrate the freedom we have to read. In a world where information is at our fingertips every hour of the day, books are still being challenged and, sadly, banned.

Banned Book Week highlights the fight against censorship. We’ll be celebrating Banned Book Week (Sept 21-27) with displays, events, and a game!

  • Come in and get “Booked” at the library by having your picture taken with a banned book.
  • Play our “Guess that Banned Book” game to get an entry for one of our prize packs.
  • Pick up a banned book and read it!
  • Find out if your favorite author/book has been banned somewhere.
  • Join us for the Banned Book Week Movie on Tuesday September 23rd @ 5:30 PM. We’ll be watching To Kill a Mockingbird.

If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the reference desk to ask. If you’d like more information on Banned Book Week, check out our Banned Book Week page, keep an eye on our feed, or come in for a handout.
