Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite Runner, discussed book banning at the 2013 Annual ALA Conference.
The Kite Runner, was the 6th most frequently challenged novel in 2012 for homosexuality, offensive language, religious viewpoint, and being sexually explicit; and the ninth most frequently challenged book of 2008 for offensive language, sexually explicit, and unsuited to age group. Hosseini read a passage of the book for the Banned Book Read Out this year.
