Fall Computer Classes including eBooks & eAudiobooks

These are these classes we will be offering this fall!

Sign up opens the month before the class at the reference desk.  Class space is limited to 5 for Computer 101, Internet Basics, Email Basics, and Word Basics.

Computer Classes

Computers 101: This class is for beginning computer users. It will provide basic instruction on what a computer is, how to use a mouse and keyboard, and about the Windows 7 environment.

Internet Basics: This class will provide an overview of the internet including searching Google and using the BC Library Website.

Email Basics: We will be exploring Google’s Gmail.  This course will cover how to get an email address, how to send an email, replying & forwarding messages, adding attachments, and other features of Gmail.

Word Basics: We’ll be going over the basics of Microsoft Word 2010 such as how to create a document, changing your fonts, fixing spacing, and inserting pictures.

eBook & eAudiobook Classes

These classes are held in the Community Room unless otherwise noted.

eBooks & eReaders: We’ll be going over how to check out eBooks from the Library and put them on your eReader. Bring your eReader, mobile device, or laptop for practice! NOTE: This class is separated into 3 different versions based on your device.

Kindle: This class is for people with Kindle readers or Kindle Fires.

Tablet: This class is for people with tablets or smartphones including the iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Nook Tablets (including the HD) and Kindle Fires.

General: This class is for people with eReaders that must be plugged into the computer to transfer book including the Nook Simple Touch, Nook, and Sony Reader. If you have a laptop, please bring it.

eAudiobooks: We’ll be going over how to check out eAudiobooks from the Library and put them on your device. Bring your mobile device or MP3 player/iPod & laptop for practice! NOTE: This class is separated into 2 different versions based on your device.

Mobile Devices: This class is for devices that run iOS or Android. These normally have touchscreens and use apps including iPod Touch, iPad, smartphones, and other Android devices.

MP3 Players & iPod Classics: This class is for devices like a MP3 players and iPod Classics that do not run iOS or Android. These will need a computer to transfer. If you have a laptop, please bring it.
